Red Rock 'n' Roller Derby Logo idea

Prince Edward Island is starting a roller Derby team! Hoopdy Hoop! Red Rock 'n' Roller Derby is the name of the team. I hoping to join the crew and thought maybe i could help with a little logo design. this was my first kick at it.. i did some more playing around but it seems people like this design better. Below are the other colors i was thinking of. My fav is the last..its a bit more girlie with the pink.

Irish Moss Collecting

I made this watercolor painting a while ago for my mother. On the Prince Edward Island Irish moss collecting is still done. Using horses pulling these cage type collectors they go into the ocean waves to collect the moss. It is really amazing to see being done. I decided to clash my modern cartoon style and Japanese prints together to make the design.

Portrait of Jasmine

I have been working on a portrait of my niece when she was younger to give to my sister as her Christmas Gift. She is pretty hilarious in this picture. She used to always stick out her tongue to the side for some reason. It was such a great picture my dad took. I did the painting in Acrylic on stretch chunky canvas.

Book Pages

I have received, like many of you have many many emails with little stories or sayings of encouragement, positive thoughts and of course jokes. This story caught my attention and I decided to do an illustration to it. It is a story about a little cracked pot who learns that even though he is not perfect he has a purpose. I inked the drawing by hand and then watercoloured them in.



I met a special friend (Merrari) on my way to Japan for a Rotary exchange so this is my tribute to her and our adventure together....ok ok so it is a little exaggerated but we really did think this what happend to us. I sketched out the concepts but to keep it in the Japanese feel I did the illustrations in Illustrator. It looks very Crisp.

I have been looking through more of my reference books and although I like the drawings of the girls there is always something off on their faces. I did find a nice drawing where the shape of the eye was rather nice so I decided to keep that.

I Love Celtic Knots, the whole design and idea. Over lapping and tangling. I have always found them interesting but the faces and characters lack something for me. I am Zazzling

I have started using Zazzle. It is a bit addictive. I have many illustrations and ideas but don't really feel like taking the plunge and making my own products, selling and distributing. This way I get royalties but not the headaches. Not sure how well it will work but so far it has been at least fun. I feel like buying the products myself so I am hoping some other people will too.

Fox and the Hydrant

Late last night I took the dog out for a walk and noticed in the park a beady eyed fox beside a fire hydrant looking at me. I thought the subject would make a good illustration. I used the Wacom tablet to create the image.. well after doing a few sketches.
